- If you are a Senior and plan on attending MTSU or Tennessee Tech and majoring in any area of music, you are eligible for the Dottie West Memorial scholarship. This scholarship application is available in the Jr./Sr. Guidance. The deadline for this scholarship is Monday, May 12, 2008.
- Girls basketball tryouts will be held on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13 from 3:00-4:30. Any girl that would like to tryout should see Coach Eades for a consent form.
- Juniors – A very important meeting will be held on Thursday, May 15th during homeroom in the auditorium. All information concerning senior pictures will be given at that time.
- Students may still turn in late picture orders to room 128 or to the bookstore.
- Heroes Ink presents Guitar Hero III "Rock Off" at Heroes Ink Northgate Shopping Center through May 31, 2008. Entry fee is $10.00 and there will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. All proceeds go to Relay for Life. For more information call 474-4376.
- Summer School applications for the WCHS Annex are available in the Jr./Sr. Guidance office. Completed applications must be returned to Ms. Grepperud (room #300) by May 23rd.

Book of the Week : Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card presents a future where a global government trains gifted youg children in the art of interstellar warfare, hoping to find a leader whose skills can prevent a second attack upon humanity by insect like aliens. Young Andrew "Ender" Wiggin may be the savior they seek. Orson Scott Card is the recipient of the 2008 Margaret A. Edward's award honoring his outstanding lifetime contribution to writing for teens for his novels Ender's Game and Ender's shadow.

The WCHS softball team will be holding tryouts on May 23rd. They will be held at the WCHS softball field from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm that night. You must attend this tryout to be eligible to make the team. You will need to bring your glove, cleats, and a bat. Your parents will need to come and sign a consent form or you may come by Coach Upton’s room (315) at the high school and pick up one and take home for them to sign and bring back for the tryouts.
